Rebecca Looten, native Texas and owner of Monsoon Imports, spent her childhood living in Indonesia and Ecuador, where her passionate affair with adventure and travel began. Monsoon Imports was born in 2003 as a way to meld art, beauty, and travel into a business. Monsoon’s goal is to provide unique pieces that tell stories of ages long since gone to enrich people’s lives through their history. Searching the globe regularly for new finds antique doors, unusual wood and stone architectural fragments, textile printing blocks, religious relics, corbels, fabrics, repurposed artifacts, and much more find their way into the warehouse. Monsoon has been called the Indian Market of Austin. The smell of teak permeates the air and the touch of marble feels cool to your skin on a  hot summer’s day.
